Police arraign 10 cultists in Sapele

The police have arraigned before the Sapele Magistrate court, a suspected gang of 10 cultists who allegedly conspired with one another, within the Sapele Magisterial District on two count charges of membership of unlawful society and practicing and engaging in an unlawful society called Neo Black Movement of Africa, aka, Black Axe.

The accused were arraigned by the prosecuting police officer, Mr. Famous Erise, under section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol. 1, and Section 64 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol. 1, respectively, both laws of Delta State.

The accused persons, Kelvin, Samuel Tivere, Arubi Uwaise, Moses Osasumwen, Blessing Okorobia, Ochuko Okiti, Umukoro Kali, Eyegho Toju, Okosun Williams and Jude Omoike Ebosele, all pleaded not guilty to the charges and were granted bail to the sum of N50,000 each, a surety each who must be a relation of the accused and must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court.

Trial Magistrate, Mrs. B. Okumagba, adjoined the matter to July 8, 2014, for hearing.
