Two Arrested Over Ogun Cult Clash Between EIYE And BLACK AXE

The police in Ogun State have arrested two suspects in connection with the cult clash in Ijebu-Ode, last Sunday.

The command also confirmed that only two persons were killed during the clash instead of five earlier reported.

Members of the Eiye Confraternity and the Black Axe allegedly clashed in Ijebu-Ode on Sunday during the Agemo festival.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, told our correspondent on Wednesday that the police had so far arrested two of the suspects involved in the incident.

Adejobi, a deputy superintendent of police, explained that the alleged cult members hid under the cover of the festival to perpetrate the killings.

The police spokesman, who said the crime was still being investigated, added that the matter would soon be handed over to the state Criminal Invsetigation Department for further investigation.
