A court has ruled that a notorious gang leader in Mushin, an area of Lagos state, must die. The convict, Muda Adigun, was alleged to be involved in many inter-gang clashes resulting in over 10 deaths around Fadeyi and Mushin axes of the state. Adigun, a member of the cult group Black Axe Movement, was a jail bird until his latest arrest in 2013. Police swooped on Adigun in 2013 after eluding their intense search for him. He was picked up while making an application for a South African visa to enable him escape. Adigun was, later, arraigned before the Lagos High Court, Igbosere, which delivered the recent judgment. However, Adigun’s sentencing has sparked fear in the minds of Akala residents, who believed his gang members could invade the area in anger. They, also, fear a possible reprisal between Adigun’s members and those of his rival, who they believed tipped-off police on their leader’s movement and led to his prosecution.
