Law Student Shot Dead as Fresh Cult War Erupts in IMSU

DSTV News Africa reports that there is an ongoing cult war at the Imo State University (IMSU) Owerri.

The cultists, who reportedly began to fight this afternoon, shot dead a final year law student. The student was said to have been gunned down at close range near the Imo State University junction.

There are no details yet as to what caused the clash, however several police and army officers are said to have already arrived at the institution while academic and administrative activities in the school have been halted.

Speaking on the cult clash, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr Andrew Enwerem, said that his office has not been briefed on the incident but explained that he would make contacts to verify the information.

Last year, the cult war between Aye and Vikings confraternities in Imo State University also led to the death of a 400 level student who was gunned down by a rival cult group.
