Tension has continued to mount at the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi, Edo State, following the death of two students and several others injured during a reprisal bloody attack by rival cult groups in the area.
It was learnt that the victims were hacked to death weekend as a result of sharp misunderstanding between members of the Black Axe and Vikings groups which started on Thursday.
Findings revealed that a member of one of the aggrieved parties had confronted the other in a heated argument on Thursday shortly after the students had completed their examinations for the 2016 session which sparked the reprisal attacks and subsequent bloodbath outside the polytechnic community.Advertisement
It was further revealed that the bloody hostilities among the two rival groups began at a graduation party organised by an unidentified student on Thursday night, same day some of the students wrote their final examinations.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Haliru Gwandu Sunday confirmed the death of two persons during the clashes between the members of the Black Axe and Vikings.
